The MD Series CW Hydra 2020 is a compact portable ventilator designed for emergency, transport, and general ward use in adult and pediatric patients, supporting both invasive and non-invasive ventilation. Weighing under 4 kg and fitted with a 7-inch colour LCD screen, the device combines a lightweight build with a full set of clinical monitoring and ventilation capabilities, making it suitable for use during patient transport, in ambulances, and at the bedside.
The ventilator offers a comprehensive range of ventilation modes, including Volume Controlled Ventilation (VCV), Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation (SIMV), Assist/Control (A/C), Manual, CPAP, Sigh, and Spontaneous/Time Controlled (S/T) ventilation, with Pressure Controlled (PCV) and Pressure Supported (PSV) modes available as options. Tidal volume can be set from 20 to 2000 mL, with adjustable respiratory rate, I:E ratio, and FiO₂ up to 100%, allowing the device to be configured to a wide range of patient needs.
Real-time monitoring covers tidal volume, minute ventilation, peak and mean airway pressure, respiratory frequency, PEEP, and FiO₂, displayed alongside pressure-time and flow-time curves. A configurable alarm system with audio and visual alerts covers minute volume, airway pressure, FiO₂, loss of tidal volume, AC power failure, and low battery, supporting safe operation in critical situations.
The device runs on an internal lithium-ion battery providing at least 6 hours of backup operating time, complemented by a 2 L oxygen cylinder with a continuous working time of 40 minutes or more, ensuring reliable ventilation during transport or power interruptions. The standard accessory set includes the main unit, oxygen cylinder, silicone mask/circuit, and the accessories required for basic operation.
